Microsoft has made Visual Studio available for free. You can download the express edition for free. I you do not want the entire edition, you can download which ever programming language for free. They have Visual Basic, Visual C++, Visual C#, and Visual Web Developer. You can also download SQL Server 2005 Express edition for free. You can also access video tutorials for each.
